The Art and Wilderness Community is dedicated to fostering a deeper connection between people and the natural world by encouraging exploring the outdoors, learning about and protecting nature and natural systems, drawing upon and implementing global wisdoms that guide us on how to live together with an increasingly beneficial impact, and aiming to regenerate a beautiful abundance from what has already been provided or left behind.

​The Art and Wilderness Institute Community is dedicated to supporting initiatives that inspire individuals to explore and appreciate the natural world, while also empowering them to take action to preserve it. 

Outdoor Islamic Programs

Khulafa Al- Ard
MUD-rasa
Get to know our Seerah, Hadith, and the Quran through tying it in with the land. Through various programs aimed at fostering a love for the earth and a true reflective understanding of how it correlates with the Sunnah of the prophet (PBUH), students will learn how to be stewards of the earth as well as become proficient in the studies of Islam through outdoor exposure and appreciation for Allah swt's creations. 

Community Engagement

GREEN PROJECTS
From Habitat Restoration projects to helping Masjids Go GREEN, we are dedicated to regenerative sustainability on all fronts. We aim to work with community partners to bring habitat restoration and stewardship back into the practices of our Deen. 

STEWARSHIP

Since 2019, AWI has been committed to practicing and fostering green practices. We aim to get a plant in the ground for every class enrollment to help offset our carbon emissions from driving to and from classes. We partner with local community organizations to habitat.
